Is it just me or did Easter arrive quickly this year? I did not think I would have time to make an Easter card but I finished it this morning. (Talk about last minute!) The colors were inspired by a tea cup I picked up at a second hand store. It has been a little while since I purchased a tea cup but this one called my name!
The scalloped edges remind me of a Shelley tea cup and the flower handle is adorable. It came with a saucer (it matched but was not the same manufacturer) but I kept the saucer out of the photo so that you can see the cup shape better. It was a steal of a deal at $3. Ok...back to the card...
The flowers are small fabric flowers and I applied Stickles' Frosted Lace to the edges and Stickles' Seafoam to the leaves. Grey twine and pearls were used as a frame around the stamped image. The stamp is House Mouse "Will Knit For Friends" and was colored with Copics and the background with chalks. It was die cut using Spellbinders Grand Ovals and mounted on vellum die cut with Cheery Lynn's Sophia's Heart. The background paper (My Mind's Eye Bramble Rose) was distressed using my Zutter.
Isn't the scene just the cutest? The chick on top of the yarn ball makes me smile.
Thanks for stopping by to see my card and new tea cup! Don't forget that today is the last day to leave a comment for the die or stamp giveaway!
Have a wonderful Easter!
Bug Hugs,
Kathy Jo

ReplyDeleteBeautiful job of translating the composition of the cup into the composition of your design. I love how the black cording on your card corresponds to the gold trim around the cup! Very nicely designed and beautifully executed! Thanks for sharing with us here at 613 Avenue Create!
