Spiderman birthday card

Hello Crafters!

Every once in a while we need to make a card that is not a style or type or theme that we usually do.  For example, a good friend of mine just had a "milestone" birthday and I wanted to make a special card for him.  He is a comic book fan- especially Spiderman- but I never made a comic book card before.  Luck would have it that I happened across two patterned papers that I thought would make a good comic book card- a Spiderman patterned paper from Marvel and a fun boy patterned paper from October Afternoon.  The front required two sheets of the Marvel paper because I fussy cut Spidy out and added foam dots as shown:
The Spidy scene was mounted on black card stock which was mounted on the October Afternoon paper.  Stickles was added to the drawn movement strokes for more emphasis.  Distress ink was added along the paper edges to give a more aged look.

The inside is more Spidy paper.  I left the bottom portion blank so that friends could sign the card (the paper looks like it was cut crooked but it was not...just a strange angled shot):
The back has advertisements from the October Afternoon paper.   I made the photo extra large so that you can see the fun ads:
I totally remember those old ads in magazines and comics!  Do any of you remember the sea monkey advertisement in the magazines?  Or the cool decoder rings?  Those ads were the greatest!  :)

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I do hope you all have a great weekend.
Big Hugs,
Kathy Jo

PS- Now the theme Spiderman theme song is in my head:

Spiderman, Spiderman,
Does whatever a spider can.
Spins a web, any size,
Catches thieves just like flies.
Look out! Here comes the Spiderman.
Is he strong? Listen bud—
He's got radioactive blood.
Can he swing from a thread?
Take a look overhead.
Hey there! There goes the Spiderman.
In the chill of the night,
At the scene of the crime,
Like a streak of light,
He arrives just in time!
Spiderman, Spiderman,
Friendly neighborhood Spiderman.
Wealth and fame, he's ignored—
Action is his reward.
To him,
Life is a great big bang-up—
Wherever there's a hang-up,
You'll find the Spiderman!
