Happy Birthday florals
Hello Crafty Friends!
How is your August going? Have you been enjoying your summer weather? My flowers are enjoying the August sun. In the past few days the lilies have started to bloom and they smell fabulous. The Bee Balm are attracting humming birds and other busy fliers. The Coneflowers are gleefully open and the Black Eyed Susans are starting to show their sunny petals. The garden may have some weeds but even they are in bloom. It is a beautiful scene.
The garden flowers inspired the birthday card I am sharing today. Let's jump into the instructions:
- Create a top fold card from blue card stock. Mat and mount floral paper (Bo Bunny Genevieve) to the card front.
- Die cut white card stock using Swirl Lattice die. Cut blue patterned paper to size and apply gold marker along edge. Adhere lattice die cut. Mount to card front using double sided foam tape.
- Die cut patterned paper using Rose Buds die. Form flowers and add stamens to center.
- Mount flowers and gem swirl to lattice die cut.
- Die cut vellum paper using Spellbinders Opulent Ovals die. Cut Happy Birthday twice- once in gold and once in white card stock. Offset mount to vellum oval. Mount to card front.
- Decorate inside as desired.
Thank you for stopping by!
Have a happy, crafty day.

A cup of Tea & Thee
Hello!
How is your day thus far? It is Relax-ville here. I am sipping on some tea and watching my furry family chill in the air conditioning. Seeing all of them peacefully sleeping makes my heart smile. The card today almost suits the moment perfectly- except that, perhaps, an "s" should be added to the end of "Thee". ;)
The card features one of the new stamps from Quietfire Designs' Tea & Thee set:
It was stamped onto white card stock and die cut using Spellbinders' Fancy Tags 2 Die. Copper marker was applied to the edges and the die cut was mounted in a curve on the card front.
The papers are from Prima Marketing's Havana collection. The tea cup is from the Spellbinders Nested Tea Cups die set (retired by Spellbinders but still in use at my house!). The white background die is Spellbinders Roman Trellis.
I hope you are having a great day and that you enjoyed this quick little card.
Have a happy, crafty day.

Kathy Jo

Lovely layered Friends card
Happy Friday!
Today is a happy day...I start my "staycation"! Woo-who! I plan on hanging with the hubby and furries, playing in the garden, visiting friends and, of course, crafting. To celebrate this happy day, I wanted to share a happy card.
The gorgeous dies stealing the show are designed by Marisa Job for Spellbinders. The flowers are from the die set Rose Buds and the lovely lattice is Swirl Lattice.
Isn't the heart on top of the lattice beautiful? It is so delicate and romantic. Love it!
The inside of the flowers have flower stamens from Heartfelt Creations. I also added Stickles to the flower petal centers.
All of the papers are from Graphic 45's Secret Garden collection.
I hope you enjoyed this cheery, floral Friends card. Thanks for stopping by!
Have a great weekend!
Big hugs,
Kathy Jo

"Without Music" digital die cut card
Hello Crafty Friends!
Today I am sharing my first post on Quietfire Digital. Let me start with some honesty as a newbie to the digital cutting world: I was apprehensive. I love die cutting and I was not sure if I would like digital cutting. Would my creations look "flat"? Would projects look elementary? But mostly, would I be able to learn how to use my machine? Well, my reservations were for naught. It is quite enjoyable, adaptable (I can re-size files to fit my project!), easy to learn, easy to purchase new files and it is inexpensive to buy new files. The digital cutting results are wonderful. Why didn't I pursue this sooner?!
My project is a combination of the lovely Treble Clef Blank Card digital file and the beautiful Without Music stamp.
Feel free to hop on over to the Quietfire Digital blog for more photos and card instructions.

I don't need an inspirational quote...I need coffee!
Happy Monday!
After seven straight days of Christmas projects it feels strange to share something non-seasonal. LOL. Since it is Monday I thought it would be fitting to share a funny coffee card card.
The quote and coffee cup are from Quietfire Design's But first, coffee stamp set:

Have an awesome Monday!
Big Hugs,
Kathy Jo
The quote and coffee cup are from Quietfire Design's But first, coffee stamp set:

The background was created using the same technique I shared in a video a couple of weeks ago:
After the background was dry I stamped the quote using dark blue archival ink.
The coffee cup was applied to watercolor paper using the same ink. After drying I colored the lid using a watercolor marker and then I fussy cut the image. Washi tape was applied to the background and the coffee cup was mounted using double faced foam tape. Gold Liquid Pearls was applied to the heart.
The quote is a hoot and the stamp set is perfect for coffee lovers!

Kathy Jo

Yesterday Quietfire Design started their Christmas in July
celebration: a week full of Christmas inspiration…and a giveaway! Woo-who!

Today is my day to share a project and I used the elegant

You may recognize some of the colors used as I also used the
pink metallic paper on recent wedding projects.
I had some of the card stock left and thought it would look great for
the die cut.

forget to enter in to win a gift certificate to the store! Details are below and on the Quietfire Creations blog:
