Happy Sunday!
Today I am sharing a vintage style friendship card. The stamped image (JustRite's Rose Postcard Background Stamp) was colored using Distress Inks and Ranger's Waterbrush. Stickles was applied to the leaves and Crackle applied to the roses. (I beginning to realize that I have an addiction to Crackle.)
The bottom of the card front was die cut using Spellbinders A2 Bracket Borders One. Both the card base and image background were made from kraft card stock. Distress inks (Old Paper and Vintage Photo) were applied along the edges.
The inside was stamped using Quietfire's Always Be My Friend stamp set:
Another look at the outside.
I totally forgot to mention this yesterday: Quietfire Design is having a sale! Summary: Spellbinders are 30% off (except Becca Feeken dies) with free shipping on $70 minimum. Decorative-scrapbook paper is 35% off. Gotta love sales!
Thanks so much for stopping by! I do hope you are having a good Sunday.
Big Hugs,
Kathy Jo

Masculine Birthday card
Hello Fellow Crafters!
Do you find that you tend to make cards that do not fit into envelopes well? I do! I decided to challenge myself and make a masculine birthday card that is "flat". My husband picked out the paper and my challenge was set. And yes, you read that correctly...I showed my husband possible choices for paper and he thought the globe paper from Bo Bunny's Weekend Market was "cool".
The paper was trimmed to size and mounted on kraft card stock. Additional kraft paper was die cut using Spellbinders A2 Brackets Borders One. "Happy Birthday" (Quietfire's Happy Birthday Plain & Simple) was stamped on ivory card stock and distressed in Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain. Gold foil tape was adhered to the edge. Green paper was die cut from Spellbinders Twisted Metal Tags and Accents and centered over the compass. All edges were distressed in Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain. Bling was applied as shown.
Easy card! Hopefully it is "cool" for a masculine birthday card! :)
Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day.
Hugs,
Kathy Jo

Mother's Day card- Quietfire, Graphic 45 and Spellbinders
The Card Concept announced their challenge, Mono Chromatic Purple, and my first thought was that I never use purple. But I guess that is the point of challenges- challenge yourself to do new things. Mother's Day is coming up (have my theme), purple is the challenge (color...check!) and Cardabilities provided the sketch (sweet!).
Working with all purple felt weird. I don't recall ever running purple paper through any of my dies (shocker!) and I was not sure I even had ribbon or twine. Luckily I have seam binding and Dusty Concord Distress Stain. Deep in a drawer was purple twine. Graphics 45 Sweet Sentiments and Secret Garden has purple paper. Go figure! I had purple stuff in my crafty room but never paid attention. You learn something new every day. :)
Hope you enjoyed my purple card. Thanks for all of the Challenge blogs out there that challenge us!
Thanks for stopping by!
Hugs,
Kathy Jo
