Hello Crafty Friends! Today is my day to post at Quietfire Creations and I am sharing a card using a "love"-ly Quietfire Design stamped sentiment and an equally lovely A Way With Words die. The sentiment is so heartwarming, "I love you not only for what you are..."
The A Way With Words die, Love, matches the sentiment so well:

The patterned papers were from Bo Bunny's Soiree collection. Behind the ivory die cut Love was a patterned die cut Love. So happy!

Crop and Crafty Get Togethers packing list
Hello All!
I am very fortunate to have
local crafty friends that meet for monthly craft nights, monthly card
projects/exchanges, and crops. I really enjoy our craft times together
as everyone has a great sense of humor, is very nice and also shares
crafty tips, tricks or projects they may have come across since our
last get together. What makes the get togethers even better is that
these talented, sweet and funny ladies are my friends. I guess you
could say that in the salad bowl of life, these lovely ladies are my
bacon bits.
As much as I try for packing
perfection, it seems I always forget something. On my to do list was

"Just living is not enough"
Hello Crafty Friends!
The spring weather is really picking up here in beautiful Nova Scotia. I love seeing the spring bulbs blooming and hearing the sweet calls of the happy birds. The longer days mean that my morning walks aren't entirely dark and the evening walks with my puppy are bright and rejuvenating. Spring is such a great time of year because it fills my heart with joy and energizes my soul. Welcome back Spring!
With spring in mind I made another card using the newly released stamp from Quietfire Design, Just living is not enough:
It was heat embossed in black on polka dotted Heidi Swapp paper and die cut using Spellbinders' Ovals. Next more HS paper was die cut using Spellbinders Opulent Ovals and Distress Ink (Mustard Seed) applied. Couture's doily die was used to cut vellum paper and cheesecloth (dyed with Distress Ink in Mowed Lawn) was assembled under.

Kathy Jo

Watercolor Tulips "Happy Birthday" card
Hello Crafters!
A couple of weeks ago my wonderful Mother-in-Law celebrated her birthday. For her birthday I made a bright and cheerful spring inspired birthday card.
The card used the lovely watercolor tulip stamp from Penny Black (4384K "promise me"). Distress Markers in Shabby Shutters, Peeled Paint, Abandoned Coral and Candied Apple were used on the stamp. It was die cut using Memory Box Stitched Square Layers (see Scrapy Land for more Stitched Die sets).
The tulips were mounted on patterned paper from Graphic 45's Botanical Tea. Pleated material (Recollections) was adhered as shown. A wee white bow was added to the center.
The inside was Quietfire Design's lovely Happy Birthday stamped using the Abandoned Coral marker. A piece of Graphic 45 Botanical Tea was adhered to the bottom.
Thank you for stopping by! I do hope you enjoyed the card. :)
Have a happy, crafty day.
Big Hugs,
Kathy Jo

"happy" Altered playing card
Hello Crafters!
Has the Mixed Media Bug bitten you? It has bitten me and I am loving it! The New Year's Resolution to alter a full deck of playing cards has been a fun project so far. How great it is to play with new mediums and learn new techniques. Today's altered card used one of my favorite mediums from Imagine Crafts: Creative Medium. The card used Iridescent Chartreuse and Metallic Copper.
The playing card had black Gesso applied. After drying, the Sunflower template (by TCW) was used with Metallic Copper (in the center).
The petals were created using Distress Ink in Fossilized Amber and Texture Paste. The leaves used Iridescent Chartreuse and a drop of Peeled Paint Reinker. Yellow acrylic paint and Tim Holtz' honeycomb stamp was applied to corners.
Elizabeth Craft Designs' die "happy" was die cut in white and applied as shown.
Yellow acrylic was applied to the edges and the altered card was complete.
Thanks for stopping by! I do hope you enjoyed the altered card. And don't forget to leave a comment on the prior post for your chance to win the "Dream" die from Elizabeth Craft Designs.
Have a happy, crafty day!

Kathy Jo
