It's a Gable Box-a-ganza!

Hello Crafty Friends!  Happy Thanksgiving to my friends in the U.S!

Today is a special day at Elizabeth Craft Designs and Quietfire Creations: all of the designers are sharing super fun ideas that you can do with the awesome Gable Box die designed by Suzanne Cannon for Elizabeth Craft Designs.

My submission for the Gable Box-a-ganza.  (No, it is not really called Gable Box-a-ganza...but I thought it would be cool if it was called that.  Big Smile )

Instructions:

  1. Die cut snowflake acetate using Gable Box die.  Use clear double sided adhesive tape to secure Gable box folds.
  2. Die cut silver card stock using Dotted Scallop Squares.
  3. Die cut blue metallic paper using Joy die.
  4. Tie top of Gable box using matching ribbon.
Easy!  And so pretty!

Happy Birthday florals

Hello Crafty Friends!

How is your August going?  Have you been enjoying your summer weather?  My flowers are enjoying the August sun.  In the past few days the lilies have started to bloom and they smell fabulous.  The Bee Balm are attracting humming birds and other busy fliers.  The Coneflowers are gleefully open and the Black Eyed Susans are starting to show their sunny petals.  The garden may have some weeds but even they are in bloom.  It is a beautiful scene.

The garden flowers inspired the birthday card I am sharing today.  Let's jump into the instructions:

  1. Create a top fold card from blue card stock.  Mat and mount floral paper (Bo Bunny Genevieve) to the card front.
  2. Die cut white card stock using Swirl Lattice die.  Cut blue patterned paper to size and apply gold marker along edge.  Adhere lattice die cut.  Mount to card front using double sided foam tape.
  3. Die cut patterned paper using Rose Buds die.  Form flowers and add stamens to center.
  4. Mount flowers and gem swirl to lattice die cut.
  5. Die cut vellum paper using Spellbinders Opulent Ovals die.  Cut Happy Birthday twice- once in gold and once in white card stock.  Offset mount to vellum oval.  Mount to card front.
  6. Decorate inside as desired.

Day 4- Christmas in July! Merry Christmas shimmer and snowflakes

Wow!  This week is flying by!  Can you believe that it is already Day 4 of Christmas in July week?  Time flies when you are having fun!

Today's project used more of the beautiful calligraphy dies designed by Suzanne Cannon for Elizabeth Craft Designs.  The card is full of beauty, shimmer and, as an extra bonus, is easy to mail!

Card Instructions:

  1. Create top fold tent card using white card stock.
  2. Die cut several snowflakes using the Brrrrrrr and Snowflake die set.
  3. Mat and mount shimmer paper to card front.
  4. Die cut Merry Christmas 2 twice: once from blue shimmer card stock (or metallic construction paper) and from white card stock.  Use liquid adhesive to offset mount the dies to the front.
  5. Mount snowflakes as desired.
  6. Embellish snowflakes as desired.
This is project that can easily be mass produced and completed while you are watching one of your favorite programs.  Just cut all of your pieces ahead of time, grab your glue and embellies and have fun!

"Thank you" single stem rose

Hello Crafty Friends!

On Sunday I walked into my craft room and was overwhelmed with my mess!  I am not an organized crafter and it was really showing.  I started with cleaning up my workspace...until I noticed how well some die cuts looked together.  Hmm.  Will this project wait or should I continue cleaning?  Inspiration called so I hung up on Cleaning.  :)

The card used two new Elizabeth Craft Designs die sets: Thank you 2 and Stem Rose.  I had run the rose die using scrap pink metallic card stock.  It is pretty with the red outline die cut on top.  The stem was used to die cut green card stock and darker green ink applied.
A scrap piece of watercolor paper was cut to size and distress ink added along the edges.  It was mounted on vintage looking dark ivory card stock.
It is a simple card but has a lovely vintage style.  The calligraphy "thank you" is a focal point and is beautiful.

Thanks for stopping by!  I must return to cleaning the craft room...wait...what is that?  That ribbon would look perfect with that die...

:)

Hugs,
Kathy Jo

Hello Crafty Friends!

Today's post is a special one as it shares a glimpse at all of the newly released product designed by Suzanne Cannon for Elizabeth Craft Designs.  As I mentioned earlier this week, the release is huge!  I thought I would provide glimpses of all of the release and some crafty comments.

A couple of cards this week were baby based.  Yes, Suzanne designed some adorable dies that would be so sweet on your next crafty project.  The Little Ones die set has the cutest dies that would be great on cards, scrapbook pages or a happy photo frame:

You know what works well with the Gable Box die?  The Heart & Pawprints Sprays die set.  This set is the bee's knees and looks very cool when used on the box.
