"Destiny is not a matter of chance"

Hello Crafty Friends!

Decided to pull out the Dylusions Sprays again and create a bright mixed media card.   After the inky fun I used a newly released stamp from Quietfire Design, Destiny is not a matter of chance.
The butterfly and Soar dies are also designed by Suzanne for Elizabeth Craft Designs.  The brick background was die cut using Tim Holtz' Mixed Media Thinlits die set #3.  All of the enamel dots in the corners and on the butterfly body were created using Enamel Accents by Wendy Vecchi.
Gotta love getting all inky and playing with mixed media product!  Of course it is always great to inspire someone, too.  :)

Product used:
Quietfire Design: Destiny is not a matter stamp, Soar die, Butterfly Flourish die
Ranger Ink: Dylusions Sprays, Vintage Photo Distress ink, Wendy Vecchi Enamel Dots, Jet Black Archival Ink
Sizzix: Tim Holtz Mixed Media #3 Thinlit die set

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a happy, crafty day.  :)

"Celebrate" Rose stamped gift box

Hello Crafty Friends!

It is Victoria Day in most of Canada which means a three day weekend for many of us.  The weekend has been great so far: on Saturday my friends and I attended an all day charity crop.  I did not get a lot of crafting done but had a fun time laughing and talking to friends.  How has your weekend been?  Have you crafted or been with friends and family?

Today I am popping in to share a gift box I created using Altenew stamps, Elizabeth Craft "Congrats" die and Spellbinders gift box die.  The box die is designed by Becca Feeken and has been on my wish list for a while.  I was so happy to have won on one of Becca's blog hops and I immediately picked the long wished for die set.  This box is my first creation using the set.
First, I stamped the flowers onto white card stock using Altenew inks and stamps.  After drying, I die cut it using the box dies.
A coordinated green crinkle ribbon was wrapped around the box and a single bow adhered to the front.  "Congrats" die cut black card stock and adhered to the box top.  (Love how it pops against the beautiful rose background!)
So lucky to have won this die set!  I have more plans for this box so stay tuned!

Product used:
Spellbinders: Mini card/booklet gift box die set
Altenew: Vintage Flowers stamp set and inks (Pocket Full of Sunshine set and Tropical Forest)
Elizabeth Craft: Congrats die
Other: black and white card stock, double sided adhesive tape and liquid adhesive

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a happy, crafty week!

Shoot for the moon!

Hello Crafty Friends!

It is a busy weekend here in Halifax, Nova Scotia.  This weekend is the annual Bluenose Marathon.  The event is well received and so inspirational!  I am always proud of my friends and family who participate in the event. This year a dear friend of mine, Mel, is running in it.  Her story is one to fill your heart with love and inspiration.  She has MS and has suffered many problems with this horrible disease.  However, she has the heart and strength to do as much as she can to fight the disease.  While doing so she has inspired many.  Here is her story and I hope it inspires you, too:  video of Melanie on the local CTV news.  Mel is running in the race today and it felt fitting to share this card today.

The sentiment is from Elizabeth Craft Designs.
The background was created using Dylusions Sprays and white acrylic paint.  The dies are also from Elizabeth Craft Designs.
Card Instructions:

Product used:
Elizabeth Craft Designs: Soar Collection stamp set, Fishtail Borders, Double Sided Adhesive, Liquid Adhesive
Ranger Ink: Dylusions sprays
Other: mixed media paper, black card stock, white acrylic paint, black ribbon

Thinking of you, Mel!  You rock!!!

Have a happy, crafty day.

Graphic 45 and Quietfire Design layered card

Hello Crafty Friends!

Yesterday I shared one of the Mother's Day cards I made for a friend.  Today I am sharing the second card created.  This card also used Graphic 45's Portrait of a Lady collection.
The oh-so-pretty calligraphy stamp is from Quietfire Design's Keep Calm and Call Mom stamp set.  It was stamped using Altenew ink.  After drying I added a fussy cut rose and applied Stickles.
Three Spellbinders dies were used on the card front and were adhered using double faced foam tape.

The papers, calligraphy stamp and die look so good together!  (Don't you just love creating a project with several pretty die cut layers?)

Product used:
Quietfire Design: Keep Calm and Call Mom stamp set
Graphic 45: Portrait of a Lady collection
Spellbinders: Filigree Delight (by Becca Feeken) and Floral Ovals
Altenew: Olive ink
Ranger Ink: Crystal Stickles
Other: ivory card stock, gold marker, double sided adhesive tape, double sided foam tape, gold card stock

The inside has a lovely calligraphy stamp from Quietfire Design.

The image was fussy cut, gold applied along the edges and mounted using double faced foam tape.
My friend said his mom loved it!  Yay!
