The Christmas Flourishes Collection Intro Blog Hop!

Hello Crafty Friends!

Today is an exciting day as it is release day for the new Christmas Flourishes Collection design by Becca Feeken for Spellbinders.  Oh- this collection is full of gorgeous dies and a coordinating embossing folder that will help you create beautiful cards and projects that your loved ones will treasure.

Today's projects created were used with dies provided by Amazing Paper Grace.

For my project I chose the Merry Flourish die set (S4-1243):
Right away I wanted to create a card with the classic Christmas colors of red, green, gold, and white.  The dies were used to cut metallic card stock as the shimmer of the card stock is reminiscent of the shiny bulbs hung on tree boughs.
I cut the main die twice: once using red card and the Merry insert and once using gold card stock without the Merry insert.  They were offset adhered using glue.

While the two adhered die cuts were drying, I dry embossed white card stock using the Holly Flourish embossing folder.  Another white card stock was die cut using the Hemstitch Rectangles (S5-308) The embossed paper was cut to size and then outlined using a gold leafing pen.  It was all mounted onto a red tent fold card using double sided adhesive tape and foam tape.

The now dry Merry die cuts were mounted using liquid glue on the detailed areas and a small piece of foam tape under the Merry.

A beautiful bulb was created using three of the dies.   It was mounted to the card front using foam tape.  A sweet double green bow was hot glued to the top of the bulb.

The finishing touch was wee gems to the bulb and on the Merry scrolls.

Amazing Paper Grace Die of the Month- 3D Vignette Gumball Machine!

Hello Crafty Friends!

Oh- I enjoy sharing projects using the Amazing Paper Grace Die of the Month.  This month's set is no exception: 3D Vignette Bubble Gum Machine.  It is so stinking cute!  It brings me back to the young toddler Kathy Jo years when I would grocery shop with my mom.  At the end of the check out lines were a row of the candy machines and I would ask my mom for a coin.  I think the bubble gum machines gave a few gumballs for a quarter.  The sugary flavor would last for about a minute and then the bubble forming time began.  By the time we would arrive home the gum would be flavorless and too stiff to make bubbles any more.  But it did not matter to me.  Sure enough, the next grocery visit I would ask for another coin and the process repeated.  Funny the things we remember!

Those memories inspired the two projects I am sharing today.  One is a card using the quintessential red gumball machine.  The other is a fun, 3D pink metallic gumball machine.

The dies were supplied by Amazing Paper Grace to create today's projects.

There are 26 cutting dies included in the Pop Up 3D Vignette Bubble Gum Machine.

DOMAPG-SEPT22

Supplies:
Amazing Paper Grace September 2022 Die of the Month – Pop Up 3D Vignette Bubble Gum Machine.
Metallic card stock in red, pink, silver, and gold
Card stock in red, green, blue, yellow, white and also in pastel colors.
Nuvo Drops- clear
Foam tape
Adhesives- tape, glue
White ribbon

Let's start with the red gumball machine card.  This is how I remember the gumball machine: shiny, red, some silver metal, and shiny gumballs inside whispering to me "Kathy Jo...ask your mom for a quarter..."
I made sure to pop up some of the gumballs using small foam pads.  All of the gumballs have a layer of Nuvo Clear Drops applied.  I really like how the gumballs turned out!  And check out the gold coin and handle details!  Becca definitely captured the details of a gumball machine.

(Did you notice the die cut phrase?  "Stuck on you".  I sang the Lionel Ritchie song for days after creating the card.  Great song!)

The next project is a sassy gumball machine in a metallic pink with pastel gumballs.  Really- why not?  I would like to have a pink gumball machine...at my work desk!  Every Monday morning I could pop into my cubicle, happily turn the handle, and chew a sweet little gumball.  What a fun way to start a work week: a little nostalgia, a little sugar, and a little fun.
The pink gumball machine is 3D.  I made sure each layer used the metallic pink card stock and had the gumballs assembled.  I also popped up the gumballs using foam tape.

It was topped off with a lovely triple bow.  Again, this die set is so stinking cute.  Makes my heart smile!  Check out the phrase on this project: "I chews you".  LOL.

The Amazing Paper Grace Die of the Month is available exclusively at Spellbinders Paper Arts during September 2022, Pop Up 3D Vignette Bubble Gum Machine along with other membership perks.
