Tim Holtz September 2016 tag

Hello Crafty Friends!

How is your fall thus far?  The leaves are slowly starting to change here and the nighttime air is getting crisp.  Walks through the woods have resulted in me taking several breaks to admire the vibrant, beautiful maple leaves.  Fall is such a colorful time of year!

The colors of the maple leaves inspired the background of my September Tim Holtz tag.  The alcohol ink background was created using the colors of fall: red pepper, sunshine yellow and a tiny bit of lettuce.  After drying, TH stencil (Flourish) was used with blending solution.  Stamps from the TH Alcohol Ink Kit and Jet Black Archival Ink was applied.
Next the Distress Patina tag background was created using Distress Paints (Picket Fence, Antique Linen, Scattered Straw and Tarnished Brass).  After drying, TH newsprint background stamp (X1-2858) was stamped using Fired Brick.  Distress Ink in Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain was applied to the edges.
Love that background stamp!!

The alcohol ink background was cut to size and mounted on the tag.  Crackle paint was used with the mini Herringbone along two edges for a faux stitch appearance.
Here is how it looked when dry:
The word band had alcohol ink in Lettuce applied and was mounted on TH ribbon.
Lettuce was also used on an ornate metallic frame from the Industrious Stickers set.  The flowers are also TH and I think it is from the Life Chronicles Book Kit.  Stickles (Diamond and Seafoam) were added at will.
So, that is my version of the September 2016 TH tag.  Hope you liked it!  :)

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a happy, crafty day!
Hugs,
Kathy Jo

  1. Lovely tag! It must have taken ages to do all those steps, but worth it in the end, for sure!
