Busy times, exciting news, and many projects!
Hello Crafty Friends!
You may have noticed a slight hiatus on my crafty blog. It has been super busy here! As you know, I am a proud member of two crafty teams: Quietfire Creations and Crafter's Companion. They both keep me happily crafting along.
Today I will update you on Crafter's Companion. I create many projects for them that are shared on their Facebook group: Fans of Crafter's Companion on HSN (https://www.facebook.com/groups/CraftersCompanionOnHSN/) and for the HSN show. Wow- they keep my busy but it is worth it as I get to create with their product, share with fellow crafters, and see my projects on TV! What a thrill seeing the camera slowly scanning the sample table and seeing my projects on display.
The past few months have resulted in numerous samples being made for HSN shows.
Crafter's Companion offers many different products which means I may be sharing a chalkboard style card with fun font and bright papers

...or a mixed media card using their stencils, metallic wax and stamps
or holiday cards using their foiling dies, luxury card stock and embossing folders.
Yes, I have been busy but it is a good busy playing with inks...
...foils...
...dies...
...pretty papers...
...whatever is new!
I enjoy pushing boundaries or using product I have never tried before.

Video Tutorial: Fancy fold Christmas
Hello Crafty Friends!
It is new release time at Quietfire Design! Suzanne just released a new set of rubber Christmas/winter stamps. You can find all of the new stamps here: http://www.quietfiredesign.ca/What-s-New/
Last Sunday on the Suzanne Cannon Fan Group (https://www.facebook.com/groups/Suzanne.Cannon.fan.group/) I shared a video showing three cards created using the new stamps and asked for crafters to vote for which card they wanted as a tutorial. The fancy fold Christmas card won the vote so yesterday I shared a FB Live tutorial:
Every Thursday is FB Live on the Quietfire Design FB page (7pm EST/4pm PST). Feel free to check it out! Also, every Sunday on the Fan Group is Show Me Sunday! Pop in to see what crafty friends are creating...we would love to have you!

They new releases from Crafter's Companion are festive and delightful. The background die, Christmas Greetings is so beautiful die cut in luxury matt foil card stock. Some simple layering and a sweet bow is all you need to make an elegant Christmas card.
Card instructions:
- Die cut background using Christmas Greetings die and red luxury matt card stock. Cut to desired size.
- Cut Vellum card stock the same size as the background in step 1. Adhere together. (I used thin double sided tape and liquid glue.)
- Mat and mount step 2 to Kraft card stock and then rose gold glitter card stock.
- Mount to red top fold card base.
- Optional: die cut rose gold glitter card stock with Christmas Greetings die. Select pieces to cut from background and mount to card front using liquid glue.
- Create double bow and mount to card front using hot glue.
The Crafter's Companion product is currently available on HSN online.
One suggestion: if you do not have Luxury Card Stock yet, I would highly recommend getting a package of your favorite color. It really does add the extra elegance and shine to a paper crafting project. Here is the Luxury Card Stock link at the Crafter's Companion online store: https://www.crafterscompanion.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=luxury+card+stock

Peacock Sparkle mixed media card
Hello Crafty Friends!
Crafter's Companion has so many crafty goodies available on HSN and on their online store. The card I am sharing today has some mixed media fun involved.
First, I took some Spectrum Noir (SN) Aqua paper and applied SN Sparkle Brushes (from the Coastal collection). After drying I applied gold foil using the Vintage Lace Background foil die. Next, I heat embossed the peacock feathers (in the Coastal Collection) in gold onto Aqua paper. It was colored using the sparkle brushes. I fussy cut the feathers and applied to the front using foam.
Last, I cut some seam binding and dyed it using the Sparkle Brushes. After drying I used a hot glue tool to adhere it to the card front.
What have you created using the Spectrum Noir Sparkle Brushes? Feel free to share your projects on the Spectrum Noir Connoisseurs page on Facebook. We would love to see them!

Elegant foiled Wedding card
Hello Sweet Crafty Friends!
Over the weekend my hubby and I went to a wedding in Montreal. Oh- it was so fun! The wedding was full of smiles, laughter, dancing and fabulous food. The bride was beautiful and the groom just beamed with smiles throughout the day. The vacation in Montreal is a time I will remember always.
For the wedding I created a card using Crafter's Companion foil dies and other dies. I put the bride and groom initials on the card front using the Classic alphabet foil stamp dies and the Elegance frame. It was die cut using the torn edge circle dies.
The background was created using the Ornate Swirls Background die and then cut to size. Turquoise foil was used throughout.
The best part about the card? Well, my hubby and I forgot to sign the inside. LOL! I was sitting at the reception table when it hit me. Can you imagine the thoughts after I realized the lack of signatures? I did tell the groom later on. What a laugh! And, I will always remember to check the inside of cards in the future. :)
You can find all of the Crafter's Companion goodies here.

Foiled Butterfly Background
Hello Crafty Friends!
After doing all the fun foiling lately, I noticed that I had a lot of unused foil set aside. Creativity struck and I decided to use all the bits on a Crafter's Companion background foil die. Using the bits for backgrounds are a great way to use up that scrap and create a colorful background.
This is actually the second background I created. The first background had smaller bits used. Both backgrounds are pretty but this background was used on a card.
The foil background die is called Beautiful Butterflies Background. I think the name is very appropriate. :)
I hope the card inspired you to use up those scrap pieces of foil!
Have a happy, crafty day.

Parisian "To a Dear Friend" pocket card
Hello Crafty Friends!
Today is a holiday here in Nova Scotia and I was able to enjoy a sleep in. How refreshing it is to sleep until 7! I woke up with the vigor of...well...I don't know...perhaps a person that slept longer. LOL. I decided to take a couple of km stroll but the weather did not impress me. It is raining so I will do some indoor cleaning and, of course, some crafty time, instead.
Before I start the "day off" plans, I want to share a card I created for the upcoming The Shopping Channel show (on May 22). It is a sweet "To a Dear Friend" pocket card using product from Crafter's Companion Parisian Collection. Aside from the pretty patterned papers, two die sets were used: Scenic France and the Parisian Border die.
The border die is so pretty and I have used it on many crafty projects.
The stamp is from the Everyday Greetings set.
The pocket and card set is super easy to make. I will make a tutorial in the upcoming weeks and share. :)
Thank you so much for stopping by! Have a wonderful day!
Big Hugs,
Kathy Jo
