My mother-in-law's birthday card was on my to-do list today. Her favorite colors are earth tones- especially orange and green- so I planned on making a card with those colors. I was looking through my stamps to see what to use when I saw the stamp I just purchased: JustRite's Secret Garden background stamp. I thought the stamp was lovely, but when I purchased it I had a choice between buying this one and another JustRite that had been on my wish list for a while. I am so happy I bought this stamp! I started to play around with it and this happened:
The stamp and color combo blew me away. The flowers looked so alive and vibrant that I had to take a photo. I pulled out JustRite stamp set Forever Friends and Samantha Walker's Ornate Artisan Tags and Accents for the center. I really wanted to show off the background stamp so I went with a sheer green ribbon. I did not want to overbling the card and take away from the background so I added minimal pearls and a wooden button to the bow.
These are colors I hardly ever use and my white embossing powder has not seen the light of day in a while. What a great little lesson in crafting today: experiment!
Other materials used: Tim Holtz Scattered Straw Distress Stain, TH Distress Inks in Peeled Paint and Spiced Marmalade.
Thanks for stopping by!
