"Snowflakes are kisses from Heaven"

Tomorrow I will share my resolutions for 2016 and a look back at 2015.  Today I wanted to share a cheerful card to start 2016 with a smile.  The stamped sentiment is Quietfire Design's oh-so-sweet snowflake sentiment: 

 

It was stamped and heat embossed in white on Kraft card stock. It was die cut using Memory Box's Stitched Square Layers (30038). 

The heart and snowflakes were cut from scrap paper using Memory Box's Snowflake Love Pendant.  Spellbinders' Scalloped Grand Squares.  A tent fold white card was the base and the bottom corners rounded.  A little bit of Stickles and the card was complete.

Gilded "We are like Snowflakes"

Quietfire Design Winter Wonderland Blog Hop!

 

Quietfire Design is having a Christmas Blog Hop! Since Monday the Design Team has been sharing some Christmas cheer and inspiration as well as our latest rubber stamp creations.  Today is my day to post on the hop...woo-who! 

For my card I used the new Quietfire stamp Good Friends Are Like Snowflakes:

So sweet and so true!

The sentiment was stamped on ivory card stock and heat embossed using gold embossing powder. The sentiment was die cut using Spellbinders new die set Labels Thirty Nine.  As you can see, there are many layers to this card:

Here is a list of the layers starting under the die cut sentiment: gold foil paper die cut with Spellbinders Label Thirty Nine Decorative Elements, pink and gold Kanban polka dot paper die cut with Label Thirty Nine Decorative Elements, ivory card stock die cut with Labels Thirty Nine, vellum paper, Kanban written thoughts paper, gold foil paper and, lastly, an ivory tent fold card.

I hope you enjoyed the card!  It is a card that can be given to any friend pre or post holidays...perfect to give to a friend after the holidays for a little bit of cheer.  :)

"Snowflakes are kisses from heaven"- quick and easy Christmas tag

How is your weekend going?  I hope it is going well. 

A couple of weeks ago I shared my work desk and the project I was working on.  At the time I was taking scrap pieces of my Kraft card stock and making tags for Christmas.  It seems that every year I am rushing or scrounging for Christmas gift tags so I decided to get ahead and make tags from scrap paper.  I am not completely done with all of the original tags so I will share those on another post.  However, I did finish a different Kraft tag and this one is ready to share.  

The tag is made from scrap Kraft card stock and die cut using my Sizzix tags die.  I stamped the snowflake background and heat embossed using white glitter embossing powder.  Next "Snowflakes are kisses from heaven" was stamped and heat embossed as shown.  Seam binding and bakers twine was the finishing touch.

Here is a better look at the snap sentiment:

The tag was quick to make and I like the final product.  This one will definitely be mass produced for Christmas gifts!  If I change my mind and decide to only make a few, I would add bling to the ribbon bundle, dye the ribbon and add distress ink along the edges.  Of course, sparkly gems would be applied.  :)

"Snowflakes are Kisses" Christmas card

Happy Friday, Crafteteers!

Don’t you just love Fridays?  The work week is done and all of the plans for the weekend are within reach.  This weekend will involve crafting, golf, a wedding and some ultimate Frisbee.  It will be a fun filled weekend.

I am sharing another Christmas card today.  As you may remember, one of my New Year’s resolutions this year was to make at least one Christmas card a month.  The resolution is going well as I have made over 10 cards since January 1^st.  Although I am making a little over one card a month, I definitely need to increase that number now that August is almost at a close- perhaps ramp the quantity to a card every other week.  Although I completed one card last week, I decided to make another  Christmas card this week.  This card used Quietfire’sSnowflakes are Kisses stamp and Basic Grey’s Little Black Dress paper.

The dies used are Spellbinders’ Venetian Motifs and Spellbinders’ Circles.  The yarn is part of the Martha Stewart yarn collection and I used a Martha Stewart edge punch to create the horizontal band.  As you can see, I used several gems on the card front to simulate sparkly snow falling.

I probably won’t be able to make a lot of this one due to the quantity of gems but I may make a couple.  How are your Christmas cards coming along thus far?  Do you have many completed?  How many cards do you usually make for Christmas?
