Tea cup inspired cards

Happy Saturday!

Yesterday I went to a thrift shop and purchased a couple of tea cup sets.  One of them was a beautiful Aynsley tea cup with a blue background, white flowers and gold trim.  It is so pretty and was a steal at $5!  What a great find and a lovely addition to my little collection (I heard the chuckles of my close friends as they read "little".) .

The tea cup set was the inspiration for the cards I made today.  Actually, I had intentions of making only a CAS card but it got out of control and I made the "non-CAS card" shown above first.  When completed I realized it was the worst CAS card in the history of CAS cards.  So, I went ahead and completed what may be considered a CAS card.

Interesting the difference between the two cards.  Two different cards inspired by one tea cup set.  Paper art imitating bone china art.  :)

Materials used:

  • Momento Rich Cocoa
  • Kraft paper
  • TPC Studio "Card Crafting Hello" stamps
  • Spellbinders 5X7 Detailed Scallops
  • Spellbinders Nested Tea Cups
  • JustRite Lace Medallion Labels stamp set
  • JustRite Secret Garden background stamp
  • Coutre Creations Trellis embossing folder
Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!

A card above is entered into the following challenges:

  4. Are you kidding me? $5.00? Lucky you! Guess who else has a weakness for teacups? I mostly collect English porcelain, with a fondness for fancy handles, but I also like old Japanese lustre ware (OOOh Shiny!) I was just debating getting a teacup die at the Cutting Garden yesterday, but I always have to mull over every purchase. No more impulse buying for me! You did a lovely CAS card, but I adore the first card, it's gorgeous like that cup, which, by the way,if you don't have room for...
