CAS Manly Nautical Birthday Banner Card

Hello Crafteteers!

A friend of ours is celebrating his birthday this weekend and he loves sailing so I thought I would use the JustRite CAS challenge sketch in a nautical theme for his card.

The card base is navy blue card stock.  MME "Moments" mini paper pad provided the background paper and the large banner paper.  I distressed the edges of the base white paper and the MME paper.  I applied faux red stitches along the inside edges.  JustRite banner die (SW-04415) was used on white paper and I used all those bits of scrap I saved from other precious MME paper to add color and pattern to the inside of each banner (yay scraps!).  The Happy Birthday sentiment (JR set Anchors Away, CR-03710) was heat embossed in white on the large blue banner.  The red corrugated paper (from an unknown supplier) was used to add some texture and height.  Sprightly Sprockets (Spellbinders S5-048) was used on the yellow patterned Moments piece of paper and applied to the banner.  The round anchor detail was from the Anchors Away stamp set.  Bling gems were applied at will.  :)

So there you go!  The CAS Manly Nautical Birthday Banner Card.  Hope you liked it!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Thank you for your much appreciated comments!
Hugs,
Kathy Jo

JustRite Kraft card for Dad

 Happy Sunday!

My dad's b-day is tomorrow.  I thought I would make a fun nautical card for him.  He has never seen the ocean so he would think the theme would be neat.  Perhaps seeing this card will convince him to come to the Atlantic (or Canada, even!).  :)

The card base is made from Kraft  card stock.  JustRite stamp set Anchors away and background stamp, Victorian Tile were used as shown.  Twine was sewn into the top of paper to add a bit more nautical feel.  My precious scrap piece of gold paper was die cut using Spellbinders set Twisted Metal Tags and Accents. The card stock was trimmed in gold.  Gold Stickles was applied to the outline of the Anchors Away die cut and also in the centers of the background stamp.   The inside of the card used the Lifestyles Crafts Anchor embossing folder (for the local crafters: it was purchased at Carousel Stamps).

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Kraft/JustRite Blue Birthday card

Happy Sunday, All!

Great day here in Halifax.  Our Bluenose Marathon took place this morning and we had a record number of participants.

Maintaining the blue/sea theme of the day, I made a quick Kraft paper birthday card using a lighthouse stamp hand made by a local crafter, Briana Corr Scott (http://brianacorrscott.com/stamp-shop/ ).  The banner stamp is from JustRite's Anchors Away.  Spellbinders used were JustRite Vintage Labels and Banner, Resplendent Rectangles and Radiant Rectangles.  The edges were distress inked in Tim Holtz's Faded Jeans.

Congrats to all the participants of the Bluenose!

Thank you for stopping by and have a good evening!

JustRite "You Touched My Life and Made a Difference" card

Hello again!

Thanks for stopping by to see the JustRite Challenge #95 card.  The challenge is called Window of Opportunity and the two cards submitted are the first two window cards I have made.  Love trying new things!

The card used Spellbinders dies Filligree Delight and Beaded Ovals.  The sentiment is from JustRite stamp set Anchors Away.  The blue-ish ink used is Tim Holtz's distress ink Iced Spruce.  At first I was not sure about the ivory, black and Iced Spruce together but in the end it turned out alright.  I may use that color combo again.  :)

Have a great day and stay crafty!

Masculine Happy Birthday, JustRite Anchors Away

Hello Crafteteers!

My father-in-law's birthday card is finally finished.  So difficult doing masculine cards!  Luckily I have the JustRite stamp set Anchors Away on hand to use for "manly crafts".

JustRite Victorian Tile in blue on distress inked paper
Excluding the blue card stock used on the card itself and the die cut circle, all the other paper was white.  I used the Tim Holtz Scattered Straw on the white paper.  The background (JustRite's Victorian Tile), Happy Birthday and the sailboat with background were stamped using VersaFine's Majestic Blue and heat embossed.  (As an FYI: I so enjoy embossing JustRite background stamped images and using Tim Holtz Distress inks/stains!  What a cool look!)  Dies from JustRite (Vintage Labels and Banner, Nested Medallion) were used to cut the stamped items. Tim Holtz's Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain were applied to edges.  Spellbinders' Splendid Circles die cut the blue card stock and more distress ink was applied.  A clear pearl pen added depth to the rope on the JustRite sailboat background. A strip of brass tape was used under the elevated die cuts.  Voila!  The masculine card.  :)

Thanks for stopping by and stay crafty!
