Take 2: "Worry does not empty tomorrow..."

Hello Crafty Friends!

Yesterday I shared a CAS Kraft card using Quietfire's new Worry stamp set.
Worry - Mounted
After I completed the post I thought more about the sentiment, the Kraft paper and the fern.  Instead of tidying up the craft room and starting a new project with new goodies, I made another card using most of the product I used from the day before.  This time I used Distress Inks in Shabby Shutters and Pumice Stone.
Spellbinders' Reflective Moment was used to die cut Kraft paper and was distressed with Pumice Stone.  A slender tent fold card was attached behind the front die cut.
Triple strands of twine was added and the card was complete.
I think this card will stay in my craft room as a nice reminder on how to approach life's problems.  :)

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I do hope you enjoyed my "Take 2" card.
Have a happy crafty day!
Big Hugs,
Kathy Jo

Sassy Shaped card

shaped, card, sassy, floral flourishes
Happy Friday!  Today is my day to post at Quietfire and I made a sassy, frilly, girly, fun card. It uses Quietfire's Sit by Me stamp which is also fun and full of sass.  :)

Here is a closeup of the card front:
And a sneak peek of the card inside.
The stamp used is part of the Garden Bench Collection stamp set which contains all of these beautiful stamps:

Distressed Butterfly card

Hello!  How is your weekend thus far?  Are you enjoying the weather?  Getting some crafty time in?  Yesterday I went to Janice's house to see her newest family member: a super adorable wee kitten, Mushu.  In the afternoon our Saint Bernard's sister, Millie, came over.  The girls have "slumber parties" throughout the year and the girls love it...as do my hubby and I.
A few weekends ago I went to my favorite local crafty store, Carsand Mosher.  They have a discount card system and I was able to get 20% off an item. (Yes!!)  My item of choice was Sizzix' Butterfly Frenzy Decorative Die Strip.  (I know you are all shocked- I bought another die...and it had butterflies.)  For the card, I ran the die through my Calibur but not enough to cut entirely into the paper.  I raised some of the wings and added Walnut Stain ink along the edges.  I popped one butterfly out completely to make it look like it was flying into an open spot on the paper.
The "Butterfly" in the corner was from Quietfire's Butterflies/Dragonflies stamp set.  The stamp in the lower left corner was from Quietfire's Illuminations stamp set.  The butterfly scene was mounted on a scrap piece of woodgrain paper.  The card base was made using one of my favorite Spellbinders dies, Reflective Moment.   (Are you getting tired of seeing my cards using that die yet?  I hope not!)
Thanks for stopping by!  Have a good Sunday and stay crafty.  :)
Hugs,
Kathy Jo

Challkboard Birthday card

Hello Crafters!

Just a quick post to share a card I made for the current challenge at JustRite: Chalkboard Birthday.
The base was made from chalkboard paper die cut using Spellbinders' Reflective Moment.  I think this may perhaps be my favorite new Spellbinders set...just can't get enough of that large die!  The background was made using JustRite's Diamond Filigree Background Stamp.  Next is white paper die cut with Spellbinders' Mystical Embrace.  Finally, the sentiment (from JustRite set Birthday Vintage Labels Four) was stamped on chalkboard paper die cut with Opulent Ovals.  Added black lace, ribbon, a bow, bling and a button then...voila!  The card is complete.

That was it.  Told you it was a quick post.  :)

Have a great day and thanks so much for stopping by!
Hugs!
Kathy Jo

Crafting Musketeers May Challenge: Anything but Square

Hello Crafteteers!

It is that time...time for a new challenge at Crafting Musketeers: Anything But Square.

For the design team card I used my new Spellbinders die 5x7 Reflective Moments.  Is it just gorgeous?!  I ended up running through many different colored card stock papers to see how each would look with the main die and they all looked jaw dropping awesome.  For the card I stuck with white and applied Tim Holtz' white crackle paint over the entire die cut.  After it dried I applied Distress inks in Antique Linen, Gathered Twigs, Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain.  Then I cut a piece of white card stock to size and applied Distress Inks in Tattered Rose, Dried Marigold and Barn Door.  On top of that was a die cut piece of Graphic 45's Secret Garden.  The flowers were highlighted with Stickles.
Next was another piece of white card stock die cut with Spellbinders Floral Ovals and the crackle/inks were applied.  Quietfire's "Happy Mother's Day" from Happy Family Days was heat embossed in black on a Spellbinders Ovals die cut.

The card is a tent fold but I only used the Reflective Moments die on the front.
The inside has Quietfire's Mothers Hold Their Childrens Hands sentiment (so sweet!) on the Floral Ovals Die cut.
Graphic 45's Secret Garden was used on every card face.
Can't get enough of that pretty paper.  :)
Thanks so much for stopping by!  Hope to see your shaped project this month at Crafting Musketeers!
Hugs,
Kathy Jo
