"Wicked" Halloween Treat set

Hello Crafty Friends!

Today is my day to post at Quietfire Design and I am sharing a sweet Halloween treat set.  The set used stamps from the ghoulishly great Halloween Wicked stamp set:
Halloween Wicked Collection
The stamp set is huge!  The Twelve Days of Halloween is awesome, too.  Such a great set!

Here are some photos of the Halloween Treat set:
The patterned paper used on the card and treat bag is from Graphic 45's Rare Oddities.
 Closeup of the "Something Wicked".
The wrapped treats!  Scale of dragon...Wool of bat...Eye of newt...
The treat bag with goodies enclosed.  :)

For more photos, hop on over to the Quietfire Design post.  Oh- and if you like the stamp set used then you are in luck because it is 50% off right now!  Woo-who!!

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a happy, crafty day!

Candy Corn Halloween card

Hello Crafty Friends!

Sharing another Tim Holtz Blueprint Halloween card- candy corn!  Yummy!  Candy corn is my favorite Halloween treat and I definitely needed to make a wee card using the candy corn blueprint stamp.
The image was stamped on water color paper and colored using Distress Inks and a watercolor brush.  It was die cut using the Memory Box stitched square and mounted onto an orange postage stamp die cut (Spellbinders).
A 4x4 tent fold card was created using black card stock.  Tim Holtz' Halloween paper was cut to size and mounted as shown.  The Tim Holz "trick or treat" metal embellishment was secured with orange/white twine and liquid glue.
The inside is more TH patterned paper and the Happy Halloween sentiment from the Stampers Anonymous Mini Blueprint Halloween set.
Isn't that candy corn just the cutest image?  I never would have thought to dimension a candy corn and seeing the image for the first time made me smile.  So sweet!  (pun intended)

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a happy, crafty day!

Tim Holtz Halloween Blueprint Pumpkin

Hello Crafty Friends!

My last post I shared a frightfully feline Tim Holtz Blueprint Halloween card.  The card in this post uses a blueprint pumpkin from the same stamp set, more Tim Holtz papers and dies.  More Halloween crafty fun!
The image was stamped on watercolor paper and colored using Distress Markers and a watercolor brush.  It was die cut using a Memory Box' stitched squares die.
The Halloween die is from the Tim Holtz Handwritten Halloween die set.
The patterned papers were cut to size and distressed using Walnut Stain Distress Ink.  The lace was mounted and light blue/white gems adhered.
Although the card has dimension, it will be easy to mail.

Thanks for stopping by!  I do hope you enjoyed the card.  :)
Have a great day!

Kathy Jo

Tim Holtz Blueprint Frightful Kitty Halloween card

Hello Crafty Friends!

Recently I picked up the Tim Holtz Happy Halloween Blueprint stamp set, the Handprint Halloween die set and the Materialize paper pad.  Oh- those purchases have made me very happy and busy in my crafty room!  Today I would like to share one of several projects created using the goodies.
The cat drew my attention right away as it reminds me of my tuxedo cat, Pepper...minus the orange checkered shirt.  :)  The image was stamped on watercolor paper and colored using Distress Markers and a watercolor brush.  It was die cut using Elizabeth Craft Designs' Stitched Circles.

The Halloween is the negative of the Halloween die cutout.  The seam binding was dyed using Distress Stain and water.
The inside is more of the patterned paper and the sentiment from the same stamp set.
Thanks so much for stopping by!  I hope you enjoyed the frighteningly feline Halloween card!
Have a happy, crafty day!
Big Hugs,
Kathy Jo

Halloween Tag- EEK!

 Hello Crafty Friends!

You know what I love about crafting?  Getting lost in a project- just letting the ink, product, dies, colors, materials lead you to an end.  Sometimes that end is a completed project and sometimes the end is just a desire to create and learn about your own inner creativity.  And many times the end is the realization that all you created is an unusable mess and ends up in the recycling or garbage...but I won't get into that in this blog post.  :)

Last weekend I grabbed some new stencils I purchased (Tim Holtz' Halloween text and Shattered) and ended up an hour or so later with this colorful Halloween tag.  The tag base had Distress Inks in Spiced Marmalade, Seedless Preserves and Hickory Smoke randomly applied.  Next I used the Shattered stencil, Versamark and clear embossing powder.  Distress Stain in Picket Fence was applied and wiped off the embossed areas.  The background looked like a wicked spider web.
Script paper from Tim Holtz' paper pad Regions Beyond was torn, Distress inks (Vintage Photo, Walnut Stain) applied on the edges and adhered to the tag.
"EEK" from the Halloween stencil, paste and Distress Glitter (Shabby Shutters) was applied to the cut out frame from the Regions Beyond paper.  Tissue tape was applied to the corner of the tag.
I cut out the owl eyes from more of the paper and glued to the inside of a random metal box embellishment.  Clear Crackle and more distress ink (Vintage Photo) was used on the eyes.
I dyed a piece of burlap using Hickory Smoke ink.  Scrap pieces of ribbon and seam binding were also dyed and placed on the tag as shown.  The final step was using Distress Inks in Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain along the tag edges.
The spooky, creepy, Halloween tag was completed.  Too fun!

Thanks for stopping by!  I do hope you enjoyed the tag...I know I enjoyed making it.  :)
Have a happy crafty day!
Big Hugs,
Kathy Jo

Totally Gorjuss Challenge 207- Spooky Colors

Hello Crafters!

Guess what time it is?  Totally Gorjuss Challenge time!  This week's challenge theme is Spooky Colors.

This is the first card made since I returned from vacation. :) I told myself that I would not use Graphic 45 paper again since I used it on my last several cards...but I could not help myself!  The star paper just called out to me and said "Kathy Jo!  Use me for your card base".  (Star paper seems to be intelligent paper so I did as it asked.)  The paper was cut using Spellbinders Decorative Labels Eight and Labels Eight dies.

The stamped image is from Recollections cling set Haunted.  It was heat embossed, windows chalked in and Stickled.  The moon was also chalked as was the background.

The owl in the corner was fussy cut from G45 paper.  All patterned paper was G45.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope to see your spooky projects at Totally Gorjuss!

Hugs,
K-Jo

Craftin' Desert Divas Challenge- Halloween

Hello Crafters!

Today starts a new challenge at Craftin' Desert Divas: Halloween!  Yay!  This challenge is too fun and I look forward to seeing all your Halloween projects!
For the design team card I went to my Graphic 45 paper again and made this card.  You may think I am going a little overboard with the Graphic 45 collections lately.  Well, I rearranged my craft room for better work flow and to better access my most often used or favorite product.  My Graphic 45 treasures were so difficult to get to before the rearrangement and now it is super easy.  I am making up for lost time and just going full steam ahead with Graphic 45 cards.  :)

Here is a close up of the candle that I fussy cut and popped using cut pieces of foam tape:
On the original G45 sheet, the candle's flame was straight up.  I wanted to capture the gasp of the gentleman by leaning the image and also leaning the candle flame towards the gasp.
I really like the two pumpkins and had to fussy cut them to add to the card.  They look too nice!

I am still travelling so I probably am not responding to your comments or visiting the blogs I follow.  I will return soon and will be visiting your cool crafty blogs!

Hope to see your Halloween projects on Craftin' Desert Divas!

Thanks for stopping by!
Halloween Hugs,
Kathy Jo

Totally Gorjuss Challenge card- Stars

 Hello Crafters!

Last week's challenge at Totally Gorjuss was amazing!  You would not believe all the gorgeous Christmas cards posted.  There will be a lot of happy Christmas card recipients this year!

Starting today is a new Totally Gorjuss challenge: stars.  There are so many fun ways to make paper projects with stars and I cannot wait to see all the entries!

For my DT card I thought I would do something different for me: a Halloween card.  Earlier this week I made my first wedding card and now my first Halloween card.  Call me a daredevil.  ;)

The background paper came from various sheets of Graphic 45 paper pads: Place in Time, Steampunk Spells, Happy Haunting and Christmas Past.  The purple background with stars came from the Christmas Past pad...so cute!  The cat and spider stamps are Graphic 45's Halloween stamp set SC0579.  (The spider stamp was too cool to not use!  Fussy cutting was kinda tricky but well worth it!)

Black paper was die cut using Spellbinders Branching out for the base.  Shimmer black card stock was die cut from Opulent Ovals to make the frame around the scared kitty.  I applied Stickles as shown and made purple highlights on the cat as a reflection of the night sky.

On the bottom left corner I made a ribbon jumble and added a Halloween paper stamp.

This inside is a continuation of the outside with more Halloween delights!

Hope to see your star creation at Totally Gorjuss!

Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving your comments!  I really do appreciate them!
Hugs,
Kathy Jo
